Society of Gynecologic Nurse Oncologists

The Society of Gynecologic Nurse Oncologists is commited to the process of actively engaging other health care professionals and the public in a constructive dialogue about critical issues. It is our goal to generate greater public awareness, and to build bridges among groups. Toward that end we welcome your interest in our Speaker's Bureau and our Cancer Awareness activities.

Open Board Positions for 2017

President-Elect

  • Be responsible to the President in coordinating the affairs of the organization.
  • Perform such duties as may be delegated by the President. 
1st Vice-President
  • Perform duties of the President in her/his absence.
  • Serve as chairperson of the Program Committee
  • Perform such duties as may be delegated by the President. 
2nd Vice-President
  • Succeed to the office of the 1st Vice-President should the office become vacant during an unfinished term.
  • At the completion of one year as 2nd Vice-President, she/he shall assume the position of 1st Vice-President, including duties as Program Committee Chairperson.
  • Be an active member of the Program Committee.
Member-At-Large
  • Assist officers in their duties as delegated by the President. 
  • Act as a resource person to standing committees.
  • Assume other responsibilities as so delegated.
  • Be responsible to the interest and concerns of the membership.

Research Committee
  • Develop a mechanism to sponsor and promote original nursing research on gynecologic oncology.
  • Recognize original contributions to gynecologic oncology nursing.
  • Facilitate publications in gynecologic oncology nursing. 
  • Provide an open forum for the exchange of nursing research topics.
Education Committee
  • Contribute to the Annual Symposium.
  • Facilitate professional continuing education needs for the organization.
