OB GYN Nurse Practitioner II
Salary Range: $64.73 to $85.42 Hourly

Under the supervision of Gynecologic Oncology physicians, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for clinical care for patients that frequent the Gynecologic Oncology clinics following specific standardized procedures. The Nurse Practitioner provides care to ambulatory Gynecologic Oncology patients through regular health assessments and management of common, acute and stable conditions. In collaboration with Gynecologic-Oncologists, the primary role of the Nurse Practitioner is to manage the care of patients undergoing chemotherapy for gynecologic malignancies and collaborate with other health care professionals in assessing and managing health care problems, maintaining continuity of care and coordinating services the patient requires in an inpatient or outpatient setting. The Nurse Practitioner will also teach UCDMC nursing staff. The Nurse Practitioner will participate in research projects in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology.
• Ability to perform pelvic exams, colpospic procedures, endometrial, cervical and vulvar biopsies, administer chemotherapy. 
• Master's Degree from an accredited school 
• Graduation from a nationally accredited School of Nursing and successful completion of an accredited, two-year advanced-level NP program. 
• Nurse Practitioner License, IV Certification. 
• Valid furnishing license in the State of California. 
• Current National Provider Identification Number. 
• DEA Certificate if prescribing sedative or opiates. 
• Current BLS Certification. 
• Must Pass the UCDMC Medication Exam and IV Certification. 
• CITI Certification if enrolling human subjects or conducting research exams within 3 months of hire. 
• National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner within 3 months of hire. 
• Direct experience in Gynecology or Gynecologic Oncology.  
• One or more years of recent experience in clinical oncology. 
• OCN Certification. 
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule and occasional overtime. 
• Ability to safely lift 20 lbs.

The Director of Clinical Research Operations (DCRO) in Gynecologic Oncology will be responsible for the implementation of all operational aspects of clinical research within the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, and oversee this process within Penn Medicine. This is to include ongoing outreach at Penn affiliated sites. The primary purpose of this role is to provide necessary leadership in the creation and development of a cohesive, integrated, all-encompassing Clinical Research Unit within the division, which will support the research mission of conducting investigator initiated, grant-funded, NCI cooperative group and industry supported clinical investigations that are both therapeutic and prevention based and range from pilot/phase I through phase III. This leader will ensure regulatory and financial compliance by providing guidance, education and direction, working to establish productive relationships, in an extensive and diverse group of investigators and clinical research support staff, including grants administrators, contract administrators, business administrators, the IRB, research billing personnel, investigational pharmacies, coordinators, fellows, clinical staff, and others through the development and implementation of SOPs. These individuals are located across departments, divisions, hospitals and health systems necessitating the creation of this leadership position. The DCRO will function in concert with the Director of Clinical Research in the Division of GYN Oncology.


A Bachelor's Degree and 7 to 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Master's Degree preferred. Previous experience in oncology preferred. Background in clinical research, and in nursing or medicine is strongly preferred. Knowledge of GCP guidelines is required.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Strong planning and organizational capabilities along with problem solving skills desired.

Must be able to work flexible hours Must be able to communicate comfortably and effectively with regulatory authorities/sponsors/investigators.
