Nursing Research by SGNO
As we seek to promote excellence in gynecologic oncology nursing and quality patient care, we realize that new and innovative information and knowledge is needed. The generation of new knowledge and the integration of this knowledge into the nursing care of patients confronting gynecological malignancies throughout the continuum of illness (prevention, early detection, treatment survivorship, and end of life care) is essential to the delivery of the highest standard of nursing care. Through many diverse research projects, nurses within the SGNO membership are currently investigating several phenomena of concern. SGNO nursing research has been within single institutions, the SGNO membership at-large and multi-institutional in scope. It is our earnest desire to promote and expand the multi-institutional facet of nursing research in the SGNO. There are a number of experienced nurse researchers with in the SGNO membership who are willing to assist new researcher in establishing a research agenda. Please contact Chrisann Accario Winslow, MSN, RN, AOCN at winslowc@wudosis.wustl.edu if you are interested in discussing possible nursing research projects.
