Displaying the Quilt in Your City

Gynecologic oncology nurses created, in honor of their patients, the gynecologic oncology awareness quilt. For all that our patients have done for us, we wanted to make this quilt in their honor. Each block represents a patient or group of patients who had a special impact on the nurse's life. There is a heartwarming story behind each block.

One block is a moose looking at its reflection in the water. This is to represent how our patients cause us to reflect upon our lives. As our patients deal with the diagnosis of cancer, the treatment side effects and uncertainty of life, they continue to live their lives - some more effectively and fuller than others. Thus causing us to reflect upon our own lives and how effectively we are using our days.

This quilt is available to be used by members of the Society of Gynecologic Nurse Oncologists to heighten awareness of gynecologic cancer. Its use is on a first request basis. It could be used at such things as the opening of a women's health center, at educational events for women, or women's gatherings where information about gynecologic cancers could be distributed. If you would be interested in hosting this quilt, provide the information requested below. You would be expected to pay for the shipping and handling of the quilt to and from your event with a $500 insurance coverage. This would cost you approximately $20 to $30. If you would need a quilt stand to display the quilt, shipping would be about an additional $15.
